flyin high

a darling girl works for us named brittany.

she graduated high school this year & got

an hour tour of sitka in a float boat for a

graduation gift. she invited yours truly(s).

we were so excited. we heard we might

even land in the water. we couldn't wait.

here we are strapped in and ready to soar.
leaving sitka, what a beautiful little city.

we zigzagged through this valley

& about at this point i was breathless

then we landed on the ocean

and all my dreams came true

we landed in the most beautiful waters ever

i felt like i was in new zealand where they

filmed the cronicles of narnia. stunning.

we saw the glacier, and some billy goats wandering

up the steep cliffs. i couldn't look for too long by this

time i was just trying not to barf everywhere.

& there is our little plane's shadow in the forresty

mountains of sitka. i didn't get too many pictures

after the glacier. all 4 of us in the back were a little

nauseous. spencer was about to lose it, & all we could

think about is all that asian food we devoured right

before flying. who does that? it makes for a good story.

coming home. you know you are in sitka when you see the lighthouse and are about to land on the sketchiest runway in america. sitka was actually featured in a magazine this past month for having the scarriest runway to land in america. you land right after the water ends and stop right before the water begins again. it's a pretty freaky first flight if you ask me. but the adorable little airport with all the taxidermied animals everywhere and a little window to eat in called the "nugget" will definitely make up for the hyperventilation and stroke you might have experienced on the landing, i'm sure of it. we sure enjoyed the plane tour and just love brittany. i always here her and spencer making jokes and laughing all the time together. and lucky for us, she is going to boise state and has promised to visit us in utah! we love the people we have met here in sitka. the more we meet the more we love.

here's to love, cheers!

I wish Cody weren't snoozing next to me so I could show him these pictures right now, totally sweet! That place is magical and I can totally see narnia. One day (if not in sept) I will see those mountains for myself. Cody and I just went up little cottonwood and I was saying how amazing that canyon is and he just would follow up with something like sure is bit you should see Alaska ha ha that is a sweet deal you two got to join in on!
